This is a example of a european, un-trimmed wallpaper. The pattern is "embossed" which means, raised, or in relief. This requires matching the pattern, and then cutting through both pieces ( double cutting the wallpaper )  in order to install the wallpaper properly.

Usually this type of material also requires " pasting of the paper ". This is where the wallpaper adhesive is applied to the wallaper, ( ! NOT THE WALL ! ) , then folded upon itself ( booked ) for 5 min. This allows the wallpaper adesive to sink into the fabric backing of the material to insure proper adherence to the wall. Unless done properly, bubbles will appear, and will be next to impossible to remove at any time. 

Here is an example of a more common embossed wallpaper. This wallpaper did not require "double cutting", the pattern butted up to to itself, but still, a " paste the paper" fabric backed wallpaper pruduct.
